The PADI Open Water Diver Course is designed for people who want to get their first degree certification to scuba diving. Once a PADI certified open water diver, you’ll be able to go fun divings (as deep as 18 meters) everywhere in the world – and El Nido is a perfect place to do it!
What is Required to Join This Course?
There is no experience or level needed. This course is open to every individual:
- Over the age of 10 years old
- In reasonably good physical health
You will have to complete a form stating that you are physical fit to take this course. If you have doubt about your ability to learn diving, please feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to refer you to further readings on that topic.

What Will You Learn?
The PADI Open Water Diver course will bring you to master three different areas:
- Knowledge development to understand basic principles of scuba diving
- Confined water dives to learn basic scuba diving skills
- Open water dives to use your knowledge and explore a whole new underwater world!
What Will You Do During Your PADI Open Water Diver course?
Your PADI Open Water Diving course will begin with the PADI eLearning Course, that you can follow from your home and at your pace. After your booking, we will send you a code to use on the PADI website that will give you access to all the materials required to prepare the course.
- Confined or shallow water session
In confined or shallow water, you will get to learn to basic diving skills required in every scuba dive. Your instructor will bring you constant supervision and allow you to gain confidence and experience in your own diving skills throughout your training.
Once you’ve acquired the basic skills of scuba diving (breathing and moving underwater, using your equipment), you’ll go on for your first fun dives.
Your PADI Open Water Diver Course includes:
- eLearning PADI course
- Booklet and additional PADI material
- Boat transfer to the diving sites
- Scuba diving equipment and gear
- Lunch meal (on the boat or on a beach)
- Tea/Coffee and cookies
- PADI certified Divemaster or Scuba Diving Instructor
