It may feel like Christmas for some, or a dream came true… but you’re well awake: Jollibee just set up its point of sale in El Nido, Palawan, in form of a food truck. Located near the covered gymnasium, it already bring its crowd of (happy) customers everyday.

The menu is not yet complete: there are no burgers for instance. But you can buy its famous pieces of fried chicken, along with rice or french fries. Those are the all-time favorite of Filipinos afficianados of the bee-fast food brand.

It’s been some time the word has spread in El Nido: there will soon be a Jollibee venture in town. This is the first sign that it is indeed the case. Maybe this food truck is just there for tasting water purpose, or it is a temporary spot before the official building is there. In any case, Jollibee’s in El Nido now. If you want to try it, that’s your chance!

2026 Update

More than ten years after this article was published, the situation has changed quite a bit… and not necessarily in the way some had hoped. Despite the initial enthusiasm of locals, Jollibee never ended up settling permanently in El Nido.

The famous red food truck was therefore just a temporary stop, likely meant to test the local market.

For fans of fried chicken and “Chickenjoy”, all is not lost! If you feel the craving, you can still find Jollibee in Taytay, about an hour’s drive from El Nido. A little excursion that can also be the chance to discover another side of Palawan.

In El Nido itself, the food scene has also evolved over time. You can now find a McDonald’s at Vanilla Beach, about fifteen minutes away by tricycle or scooter from the town center. A convenient option for those craving a familiar taste after several days of adventure.

In the town center, you’ll find plenty of restaurants serving burgers, fries and other Western dishes, with a wide range of prices and atmospheres, from local eateries to trendier seafront spots.

In short: even without a Jollibee in town, there is plenty to enjoy in El Nido… and maybe even some new flavors to discover!
