What Is The Cultural Tour?
The Cultural Tour in El Nido will take you during a day to meet and discover the life of the local peoples of northern Palawan. The tour starts at 8am and we’ll come back to town around 5pm. Your group will embark in a air-conditioned van with which we’ll go to different villages. This tour is opened to groups of 6 people, for a price of 1500P/person.
This is a chance to discover the real life in El Nido, behind the touristic facade. You will discover the life in the local villages surrounding the area, the traditional house construction technics, fishing techniques, local food and much more.

Meeting The Cuyonon and Tagbuana People
The Cuyonon and Tabuana (or Tagbwana) are two of the oldest ethnic groups in Philippines. The Cuyonon are originally from Cuyo and the surrounding Cuyo Islands, in the north east of Palawan, and the Tagabuana mainly live in the central and northern part of Palawan.
During the Cultural Tour, you will learn more about the history of this groups, the social structures in their villages and their traditions and technics. You will also get to see how are done the confection of the “Sawali” (traditional house walls) and the “Nipa” (traditional house roofs), how the metal is worked to create a “Bolo” (local machete), and what are the instruments used in the fishing technics.
